ZenList 2.00 Release Notes
--------------------------
Hi everyone,
ZenList is now back with a much different look. Gone is the ASCII ZENLIST.CFG,
and in its place is ZENSETUP.EXE, the menu-driven set up interface that many
of you had asked for. However, I haven't included any conversion program, so
you will need to set up ZenList again from scratch. Don't forget to copy
your registration code to a safe place before you delete the old ZENLIST.CFG.
I won't attempt to list out all the new features here. They are all written
there in the documentation and in WHATSNEW.200. Read for yourself.
Two bad news associated with this release:
1) Registration fee has gone up. Much time and effort has been put into the
development of ZenList, and along with the increased cost of providing
support for it, the previous fee is no longer sufficient. However,
users who have already registered need not pay an upgrade price; your
present registration code will still work. Refer to ZENLIST.REG for more
details on registering.
2) It will be some time before the next public release _if_ there is one. I
have decided to repeat a few beta and gamma cycles for future versions
instead. Gamma versions will be made available to registered users (only)
so that they won't need to wait very long for updates. I will include a
text listing of all registered users with effect from the next gamma
release.
A public ZenList support echo (ZEN-HELP) is now available from ZenList
support/beta sites. Link up to it for ZenList update notices and tips 'n
tricks.
There are many new features yet to be implemented as I had to rush this
version out to keep (hopefully) CD-ROM users happy. You'll find out more...
Last but not least ... I thank my diligent beta team for all the help that they
have rendered. More than half of the new features that you find in this
version are results of their suggestions. You may want to send them a thank
you note for their effort :-)
That's it for now ... onwards to the next update!
